Good little pot for making strong coffee for milk drinks like cappuccino, lattes, and cortados.I bought one and it has been working really well once I dialed in my technique. I decided order another one to put in my camping equipment. The second one seems to be more temperamental and likely to sputter in unpredictable ways.Same ground coffee, same method from James Hoffman - boiling hot water into the reservoir, assemble, heat on medium until coffee starts coming out, ride the temperature wave to prevent sputtering, and then stop the brew by running under the tap - vastly different results. I have consistently good results and flavor with the first one using this method. The second one will throw sputtering coffee out at the beginning about half of the time. The coffee the second one produces is far more likely to turn out sour or bitter.Visually, they look identical in all components. The only difference is where the pressure valve lines up. The one that works well has the pressure valve lined up with the handle when it's fully assembled. The inconsistent one has the valve lining up with the spout.Six cup size is good for a single person that wants about 75 ml/2.375oz of coffee at a time. If you're making drinks for two usually, I'd recommend going with the six cup model. If you love espresso or coffee which is bold, smoky in character and have a lived one to share with, this is for you!Forget the utter pretentiousness of an all digital, 400 page user manual contraption which takes your remaining counter real estate and is the sole reason to have a backsplash. This little gem delivers without demanding any more love than getting it off the heat as soon as it's done, and washing with just a rinse of cold water. Don't spoil a great thing with soap, this gets better the more you use it. We freeze our beans and grind to a fine powder, lightly pack the filter after filling with cold water, screw together, turn the burner on high and wait no longer than you'd expect for your average space age espresso machine. The only downside is no milk steamer, but a creative mind heats milk in a tall and slim glass in the microwave and inserts one of those wonderful little slender blenders to make your froth. Now don't make me have to work out more details for you!I got the 1-cup model, which brews roughly 60ml (~2oz) of coffee. This thing is TINY. So tiny, in fact, that I had to use a pan to use it with my gas stove (I have since ordered an adapter plate for this), but it makes great coffee. Stronger and less bitter than my French press, but not quite as strong as espresso. It's so easy to use, too! Add ground coffee to the funnel (fill the funnel top part without tamping it or packing it in any way), add water to the bottom compartment to just below the safety valve, and let it run till it gurgles. I also bought the Instant Pot-brand milk frother for this so I can make lattes and things at home; it's such a good compliment to this thing!I have quite a collection of coffee makers, not as a collecting hobby but as a quest to find my perfect home-brewed cup of coffee. This is one of the best ones I have, for my taste. It makes an espresso-style brew. This "12-cup" size is really a misnomer, claiming to be a demitasse-size cup. Filling it to the max gets you about 2 cups (16 fluid oz.) of espresso. That's quite a bit, for this strength of coffee, but it makes for good iced coffee with what is left over. I had tried the 9-cup version first but found that to be a bit too small to fit on the gas burner on the stove. This one is the perfect size and I can use it on the larger burner without having the flames extend past the base. The plastic handle still gets hot so you might want to use a pot holder when lifting it off the burner and pouring.Fill the base up to, but not covering, the vent hole. Add 1/2 cup fine-ground coffee to the filter - do not press down. FIRMLY screw the top on - you want to make sure it doesn't lose any pressure through the threaded part. Place on the burner, making sure the flames don't extend past the base (or it might melt the handle.) It takes about five minutes for the pressure to build, and you will hear the coffee perk up into the container. Don't peek, or you might get sprayed with hot coffee! Once the percolating has settled down (it will only take a few seconds), turn off the burner and remove the pot. Pour into a 16-20 oz container, or directly into your small cup.Pictured is a 3/4 oz shot glass. I like the stem because the glass gets hot (and I don't have demitasse cups.) My sister tried only this much and said she was getting a buzz already by this little amount! I like drinking it black this way, but iced I usually add some cream and sugar.I love my espresso, but I do not need one of those fancy machines that takes a week to get set up and makes a 3-ounce cup. This espresso maker is very straight forward and easy to use. This says it makes six cups, but it is important to note for those who are unaware that this is in espresso cups. In normal terms it makes about eight ounces our one cup of coffee per batch.I have an electric stove and so I make sure this is on the side of the small burner (making sure the handle is over the cool part of the stove not the burner itself) and then turn the burner onto medium. It takes a few minutes to heat up and makes a very even and delicious cup of coffee. It is easy to clean as well, just disassemble and hand wash and dry. I would note that at the very top where the handle meets the lid there is a tiny ledge that my thumb always wants to hold and put pressure on to help me pour but it is metal not plastic, and it does get hot! I burned my thumb the first time, so I thought it might be a note that others might need.Overall, a great espresso maker, well built, easy to use and clean and high quality for the price. I am satisfied.I’ve had the espresso pot for a few months now and I do not regret it. I love To use my stovetop espresso pot with Cafe Bustelo grounds. It’s saved me a ton of money on weekly coffee trips. Perfect for gas or electric. My only downside is the compartment the grounds are held is is hard to removes especially when attempting to make a double batch. Had feel of aluminium and looked cheap. Scraping sound when unwinding bottom from top. Didn't seem good value for money.Good sturdy quality aluminium and works well. Sent from the US and arrived much quicker than expected. Only slight niggle: none of the product pictures showed the Primula logo (which was one of the reasons for purchase as I didn't want a logo) but it is very discrete so no big issue.
